This scares me, because some kids prefer anything on a screen to real life. I recently talked to an 11-year-old about how the military video game series “Call of Duty” (of which he’s an avid player) was unrealistic because one could simply stand still, kneel, or go prone to heal any physical damage sustained. His response? He shook his head and “Real life sucks.”

Labels for anything you can think of…even iron-on labels. They can even be printed with a free optional lost and found code. Nice touch!
Are your kids bored? Are you tired of their obsession with Hannah Montana and Disney princesses? Here’s a list of books that will open their minds and imaginations to the rest of the world — and help them better understand their own.
Children used to actually talk to their friends. Those hours spent on the family princess phone or hanging out with pals in the neighborhood after school vanished long ago. But now, even chatting on cellphones or via e-mail (through which you can at least converse in paragraphs) is passé.
